Swach Neer

The invention is related to a water purification system based on an earthen pot. It comprises two chambers. The purifying chamber at the top consists of a mixture of sand and mud which also contains a pair of ceramic candles. The water present in the purifying chamber is absorbed by the candles and slowly trickles down to the storage chamber. The impurities of water adsorbed at the surface of silica present in the candles, due to the presence of burnt rice husk.

The second chamber is also a storage chamber made up of a mixture of mud and rice husk ash in a specific ratio. After neutralization, microorganisms need to be removed from the water, for this purpose chlorination is done. The remaining water in the storage chamber is free of contamination.
