IoT Based Solution for the safety of the Rolling Shutters

The proposed model involves rolling shutters and an anti-theft system to prevent violent unlocking. It has a housing with two or more sensors, such as a pressure sensor and a heat sensor, operatively coupled to sense the vigorous unlocking of the rolling shutter, an alert unit, such as a buzzer to alarm in case of theft, a controlling unit (PCB) to collect and process sensor data, a battery to power all components, and a wireless communication unit to transmit notifications to registered communicators. The housing is covered by an outer casing with a USB port and power port on one side. This device can be attached to existing shutters from the inside, making it difficult to see from the outside. In an example, when a person tries to open the rolling shutter with any metal rod, the pressure sensor activates, the wireless communication unit sends a notification to the registered communication device, and the alert unit activates the buzzer so the owner can take action. When a gas cutter is used to cut the shutter, the heat sensor activates, the wireless communication unit sends a notification to the registered communication device, and the alert unit sounds an alarm.
