The proposed research aims to develop a urine-based cancer detection system utilizing the miRNA-21 biomarker, offering a non-invasive and radiation-free approach to early cancer screening. This innovation addresses current limitations in cancer screening methods. The technology’s potential for commercial success is substantial due to the global cancer mortality rate, its high sensitivity and specificity, and the increasing prevalence of cancer. Notably, recent studies demonstrate promising results in miRNA detection from urine samples. The devised kit employs dual detection through colorimetry, ensuring accuracy and specificity through both visual observation and lab-based fluorometer testing. This non-invasive, safe, and versatile approach holds significant promise for various age groups, positioning it as a valuable tool for early cancer detection and companion diagnostics.
