Automatic Wire-Coiling Machine

In most of the wire manufacturing MSMEs, the existing wire-coiling machines are operated manually or semi-automatically. The main constraints in these machines include inconsistent work speed, winding continuity dependent on the operator, undesired results of winding, and supervision required for the process. The accuracy of winding is low, and spacing between two consecutive windings cannot be achieved. The semi-automatic wire-coiling machine currently used in the industry is complex, bulky, and costly. Presently, we are developing a low-cost automatic solution for coiling the wires onto a spool or bobbin that can help MSMEs to enhance productivity and reduce costs. In the proposed low-cost automatic wire coiling machine, the wire-feed will be controlled and guided by a microcontroller-based mechanical system. The wire-feed, speed, and coiling distance will be automatically maintained using the automatic system. This machine will help all the MSME companies to increase productivity that are using manual wire coiling machines due to the high cost of automatic coiling machines.
