MHRD’s Innovation Cell (MIC) organized a two day ‘IIC Innovation Ambassador Training Series’ in Jalandhar on January 16-17, 2020. Mr. Chanpreet Singh (Project Manager) and Ms. Aaishwarika Raj Sharma (Research Assistant) from Chitkara University were nominated by Chitkara University NewGen IEDC to attend a Design Thinking workshop in this training program. Design thinking workshop is an activity oriented workshop that brings in new problem solving techniques for complex problems. These techniques are inclusive in nature and based on creativity and innovation. The workshop also comprised to various self awareness activities and different research methodologies for solving different problems. Participants of the workshop were divided into smaller groups and these groups were assigned different problems to work on.
Ministry of Human Resource Development (MHRD), Govt. of India has established MIC to systematically foster the culture of Innovation amongst all Higher Education Institutions (HEIs). The primary mandate of MIC is to encourage, inspire and nurture young students by supporting them to work with new ideas and transform them into prototypes. MIC has encouraged creation of ‘Institution’s Innovation Council (IICs)’ across selected HEIs and Chitkara University is one such HEI where IIC has been established.
