A smart robot to sanitise large indoor wards
UV Rakshak is a UV-C-enabled robot intended to disinfect large indoor wards in a short time. It is controlled by a mobile app, which automatically notifies the user when disinfection is complete. The range for operating the robot remotely is 10 metres. It has a capacity to disinfect an area of 12000 square feet per hour. This robot uses UV-C technology with a setup consisting of six 30-watt UV-C lamps. The robot has a battery life of 3 hours, and within this time it can disinfect 12 rooms. UV-C is a world-renowned technology for killing coronaviruses with an efficiency of 99.9%. The technology has been tested by reputed medical institutes like Nebraska Medicine, Stamford Medicine, and the CDC.
