Driving Assistance for Foggy Conditions

Due to low visibility, driving in fog is challenging and can result in accidents. To address this issue, we propose developing an onboard system that provides the driver with an obstructed-free view of the vehicle’s surroundings in fog, thereby making driving simple and secure. It is comprised of an ultrasonic sensor and a camera to detect objects and collect information about the vehicle’s surroundings. A 3D image of the vehicle’s surroundings is generated with the aid of an AI model and displayed on the dashboard’s digital screen.

This procedure will be repeated four to five times per second to bring the image closer to the video feed. With this system, fog driving will be significantly safer than in the past.
