Purestart: Anti-colic Temperature Sensing Uni-flow Infant Feeding Bottle

Regular infant feeding bottles without any venting mechanisms can lead to vacuum buildup during continuous latching, which can further lead to colic. Warming the baby formula helps, but then it becomes important to bring it to the right temperature during the feeding. Further, this leads to the development of negative pressure inside the bottle as some air pockets may remain in the vicinity of the nipple, which can cause retraction and subsequent stopping of the flow of baby formula.

To solve this problem, we have come up with an improved design of anti-colic uni-flow infant feeding bottle. The said design features have a one-way check valve incorporated at the bottom of the bottle that facilitates a positive air pressure behind the baby formula, resulting in a uni-flow without any chance of vacuum buildup, resulting in eliminating problems like colic in the baby. Furthermore, this truly anti-colic design features a temperature indicator at the bottom so that caregivers can monitor the temperature of the baby formula in real time to avoid any unwanted circumstances or contamination.

The bottle will be silicone-cast using liquid silicone that is BPA-free and baby-friendly. The nipple will be made of high-quality silicone, resembling a mother’s nipple. To the best of our knowledge, there is no completely foolproof uni-flow anti-colic infant feeding bottle with a temperature indicator available in the market. The global baby bottle market size was estimated at USD 3.3 billion in 2022 and is forecast to surpass USD 5.2 billion by 2032, growing at a compound annual growth rate (CAGR) of 4.7% from 2022 to 2032 (source: Fact MR USA). Since infant feeding bottles are an essential commodity globally, we expect Purestart to do well in Indian and international markets.
