Two-day Industry-Academia Meet to Commercialize NewGen IEDC Projects

Chitkara University NewGen-IEDC and TEC organized an industry-academia meet to commercialize NewGen IEDC projects on November 24–25, 2023, at Chitkara University, Punjab. The session featured a review of 31 NewGen-IEDC (DST)-supported projects by industry experts, technology commercialization experts, and startup experts in order to push participating students to take their projects to the next levels of technology and market readiness.

On Day 1, a total of 16 projects funded by NewGen-IEDC presented their progress reports. The jury was comprised of experts from industry: Mr. H.S. Lamba (President, Patiala Industry Association) and Mr. J.S. Sandhu (President, Patiala Chamber of Industries), tech-commercialization expert – Mr. Sanjay Bhatnagar, start-up incubation experts – Dr. Neeraj Kumar (CIIF) and a representative from CEED.

On Day 2, the NewGen IEDC Progress Review Presentations witnessed 15 presentations by the student beneficiaries of NewGen IEDC funding. The jury was comprised of industry experts: Mr. Rama Kant – Director, EPIC, Ambala; Mr. Harpreet Singh – Director, Eon Infotech Ltd., Mohali; and Mr. Sanjay Bhatnagar – Head, Tech Commercialization, Chitkara University, Punjab. The objective of this meet was not only to review the progress of the ongoing NewGen IEDC projects, but also to explore ways of scaling up these projects either through commercialization or start-up creation routes.
