Five-day DIY Workshop on Prototyping

Chitkara University Central Fabrication Facility in collaboration with NewGen IEDC (sponsored by DST, GoI) conducted a five-day hands-on workshop on Product Design. It was an ideal opportunity for participants to build good quality project prototypes that closely resemble the end products. A total of 20 students registered for the hands-on experience and followed five different modules named material preparation hinge installation, laser cutting & engraving, profile cutting, beading cutting, and installation. In the workshop participants learned to identify the material and to operate hand tools as well as laser cutting machine and 3D printer under the supervision of experts. An introductory session for precautionary measures was conducted before the workshop. The participants were encouraged to make a laptop stand as per their own ideas and were allowed to take it away with them.
